My latest project is an animatronic head. This head has neck, eye, and jaw movement, which is made possible by using 10 servos controlled by a Pololu Maestro servo controller, which allows the servos to be animated to create a movement sequence. The head features a silicone skin taken from a plaster mould I made of reptilian creature face I sculpted. The animatronic was fully designed in CAD before I started making it. It features many designed 3D printed parts as well as aluminium and brass parts to make up the body of the peice, I felt this meant I was getting strong parts as well as fully custom pieces.
